"Living a meaningful life depends on the quality of the relationship we have with others and ourselves."

What was your journey in integrative therapies?

My personal journey in combination with the search for a happy, fulfilling, and meaningful life brought me to the healing powers of integrative therapies. Early on, during my student years in Amsterdam, I studied reiki, yoga and meditation and felt the healing powers of these practices. After 20 years of working in design and technology I decided to pursue my Masters in Counseling Psychology at Pacifica Graduate Institute. This was life changing and deepened my knowledge about the human psyche and the body/soul connection. In recent years I have participated in various programs and studies to expand my knowledge of Buddhism and Psychology and how they can be integrated into a healing practice. As an integrative therapist, I am dedicated to the continuous study of the mind/body/spirit connection in healing and transforming the psyche, and improving the quality of our lives in authentic and unconventional ways.

What are your professional values?

At the heart of my work is collaboration. Living a meaningful life depends on the quality of the relationships we have with others and ourselves. It is my belief that the therapeutic relationship is sacred and instrumental to the healing process. Each individual has the potential to heal and experience freedom. My role is to support and guide this sacred process in a trusting and safe environment. As Rumi said “The wound is the place where the light enters you." I will be your ally as we uncover and heal your wounds and blockages, unstick repetitive patterns, set up healthy boundaries, navigate new territories, and learn new skills to embrace a truly meaningful life.

What does a session look like with you?

The content of a session depends on the unique characteristics, history, experiences and needs of each individual. My approach is collaborative. Together we will work in various stages and take a look at your past, present and future. The content of a session depends on what is going on in your life, and which phase of our process we are in. As an integrative therapist I will draw from a variety of therapeutic approaches. Depending on your particular needs we may use a combination of therapeutic modalities including Psychodynamic, Jungian, Family Systems, and/or Buddhist and Somatic (movement, meditation, and breath) practices. For each client I work with, we walk different paths together, aiming to lead a more integrated, fulfilling life.
